Roofing Information

Most homeowners never see the hidden tile damage to their roof. Therefore, communicating tile problems like these to you is another way we demonstrate pride in our work. We will always leave your roof in better shape than we found it. Since pigeons can nest and perch in crevices left by cracked or displaced tiles or mud we fix these areas of your roof very carefully with an industrial strength tile adhesive. We do not address decaying tile underlayment or flashing problems.

Just for the record; The Pigeon Guy does not hire any technicians over 190 lbs to walk on your tiled roof. It is possible to walk slowly and carefully for estimates if you are a little heavier, but to work and carry equipment, it would be practically impossible to not crack additional tiles.

It is very important to make sure your contractor secures tiles with adhesive when they are installing perching wire since the wire oftentimes pulls tiles from their intended position possibly exposing the delicate tile underlayment paper. In addition, drilling into mud transitions easily causes cracks where their might not have been any before.

*Our technicians specialize in working on tile roofs and meet strict weight requirements before being hired. We are trained to repair cracked roof tiles (mostly pre-existing) whenever possible with waterproof industrial silicone adhesive. On the rare occasion a tile cannot be repaired or pre-existing damage is obvious, it is our policy to inform you immediately. We do not replace tiles at our expense. In the unexpected event of catastrophic and irreconcilable damage, be sure your contractor is licensed by The Arizona Registrar of Contractors (ROC). This automatically qualifies you to submit a claim on the $20,000 immediate “Recovery Fund”. The Pigeon Guy ROC#176754

This is a classic example of a very common phenomenon we call slid tiles. We fix these because pigeons could nest where the pine needles are.

Would your pigeon control expert tell you about these problems yet alone fix them? We did.

More slid tiles, just a different kind.

We have thousands of dollars in special cushions for working on roofs just like these so we do not break tiles. This is a nesting spot that was not obvious from the ground.

We took pictures of these for a very disappointed homeowner. We call these taco shells for a very good reason: they are very brittle.

The weakest spot of a flat tile is in the middle. It is amazing how many times we see the previous estimator leaving cracked tiles behind.

These ridge tiles were never fixed correctly.

These are very sturdy tiles but there are places you just cannot walk on them regardless how strong.

There should be a galvanized pan over the tiles in this corner. Instead the field tile has slid down just enough to anchor a nest behind.

This is a missing ridge tile with the unpapered beam exposed. We covered this with pigeon slide until the customer could get a roofer out with new tiles.

Fecal tea and uric acid are corrosive, plain and simple.

It is really important to keep flat roofs clean.

These mud cracks are on almost every house we are on. They do not make tiles to fit snug like concrete. These cracks really need to be patched.

These slivers of tile are not easy to anchor for roofers. Here they have slid enough to expose paper underlayment beneath tiles.

More slid tiles and cracked mud.
